In Jackson, on the town square, there is a shoot out. Every night, around 7:00 P.M., they have a mock shoot-out on the square; it’s corny, but fun and everyone sees it. You should get there about 20 minutes early (the crowds are amazing), so you can get a preferred view.

Pool is open year round. Great for the kids. In the winter, you can cross-country skiing in the 10 miles to the hot springs but it will probably take you three hours to get in and another three hours to ski out. If you are in good shape, go for it! Summer temp- 93 degrees. Winter temp- 112 degrees. It is about a 45 minute drive from the house. From Jackson drive south on Route 191 to Hoback Junction. When you come to Hoback Junction, do not take Pinedale Road to the right, instead, bear left on 191/187 for about 15 miles, look for sign for Granite Hot Springs and take left. The ride from the main road to the hot springs is about 10 miles on mostly dirt road, very bumpy.

Hiking
There are incredible hikes everywhere. Many of them are in Grand Teton National Park. There are maps on the bookshelf by the fireplace so you can consult them. Hikes into Taggart and Bradley Lakes are good ones. When you are feeling adapted, hike into Phelps Lake. It is magnificent- Gorgeous views. Hiking around Jenny Lake is also quite beautiful. There is a ferry that crosses over the lake to some falls and you can hike back. (While in Jackson you are at a higher elevation so you may experience its effects. Drink lots of water the first few days to help you adjust to the altitude.)
In Teton Village, you can take the Tram to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. Great views. You are at 10,450 feet so it is often colder and windier at the top so dress accordingly. You can hike back down or come back down on the Tram.
